So... why does French feel so damn hard?

You've probably tried it before.

An app taught you bonjour 47 times.

A textbook introduced twelve verb tenses before you could order a coffee.

Someone told you “that's just how French works.”

Very helpful.

The problem isn't that French makes no sense. Most of the time, nobody stopped to make it make sense.

That's why we built Unlock French.

We take the grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and weird little things French does—and explain the logic underneath them in normal human language.

No academic gymnastics. No memorizing a rule just because someone told you to.

Turns out, French is a lot easier to remember when it actually makes sense.

Every Unlock French lesson starts with the same question:

“Okay, but how do we explain this so a normal person actually understands it?”

If the explanation requires three explanations to understand the explanation, it's going back to the drawing board.

We simplify it. Test it. Rewrite it. Find the connection to something you already know. And occasionally stare at it for an unreasonable amount of time.

Until it clicks.

Because “just memorize it” is not an explanation.
